I
picked up a camera when I was 14 and took it to a Queen Concert.
When I got the prints back two weeks later, every time that I looked at them, I
remembered the experience, though I did not understand it at the time, I
learned much later that it was not about the photos but the emotions and
experience that excited me.
I joined the Navy in 1980, continued my training and travels, and that is how I ended up in the Washington DC. I have worked for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, as a staff photographer, where I did everything from aerial photography to video production. In 1988, I opened my own studio which give me the opportunity to expand my creative ideas and projects. I have photographed over 1000 weddings in the last 25 years.
In 2000, I joined the staff at Penn Camera in Rockville, MD, where I have I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and help many of the great photographers and artists in the area.
I love people and photography, and it is important for me to
do all that I can to assist in helping them to get better results.
I started DCPhotoworkshops in
order to give others the chance to learn more about photography in a workshop
situation. I also teach and consult with individuals and organizations
about photographic issues and equipment. Please take a minute or two and check out the website.
